STUN GUN VOLTAGE CAN BE CONFUSING! WE'RE HERE TO HELP! When shopping for an electric stun gun you'll find voltage as low as 50,000 volts to well over 100 million volts. Many don't realize that mega high voltage stun guns are no more effective than most lower voltage stun guns. This is because higher voltage stun guns' milliamp output is lower. For instance our TASER® brand 50,000 volt projectile stun guns have the same stopping power as our direct contact Mini 98,000,000 Volt Stun Gun. TASER® brand projectile stun guns, however, can disable an assailant from up to 15 feet away.

As the stun gun manufacturer "voltage race" continues to rise, the milliamp output of the higher voltage units is reduced accordingly. Let's face it...no stun gun manufacturer or retail dealer wants to sell a "lethal" stun gun, resulting in an assailant dying, because the shock is simply too powerful. In addition, stun weapons' overall electricity output is regulated by the federal government, therefore, they are required to remain non-lethal. All of the units that we sell discharge about the same shock as a short burst from an electrical outlet, so all have about the same effect. True, if you shop around you'll probably find stun guns that advertise voltage output as high as several hundred million volts, but in reality they have no more stopping power than some of the lower voltage stun guns that we sell. Don't pay more for a mega high voltage stun gun on another website, being you will only be paying substantially more for the name of the product, but not gaining more protection.
